New Updates to the Home!

I had a great weekend out bargain shopping with my mother! We are having a housewarming party next weekend, so I wanted to do some more decorating! Here are some more recent pictures of our newest additions to our home! Not a bad weekend! I will definitely have to stay home this week and not spend anymore money!!

New wall clock in living room...
New table in foyer... I added the baskets last minute. Should I keep them there? Any other ideas what I am store below there?
New wall clock in kitchen... It looks really nice with our stainless steel appliances.
Frame with our engagement pictures in kitchen (not new, but need to show)...

New mirror by door to garage (just to make sure we look our best before leaving)... The perfect places to hang my purse and jacket!
And finally the pictures my mother bought as a housewarming gift (which I picked out myself)... I think they look great with my curtains and bedding! What do you think?

Curtains are my new addiction.

Did I mention that red is my other favorite color?

I have never hung up curtains before. I loved my wood blinds so much in our old house, that I didn't want to cover them up. Well, I am a changed woman! It's amazing what a difference curtains can do for a room. This past weekend, Stuart and I hung up curtains in both our living room and bedroom. I actually purchased the curtains, not knowing which color would go in which room, but I am pretty happy with how they turned out. I may end up ordering some longer ones for our bedroom, because they didn't have them in the store. I will then have to move the current curtains to the guest room. I moved our bench in front of the window to disguise the length a bit! I actually have alot more work to do on both rooms, but here are some before and after pictures. Some of them are hard to see, but I think you can see the difference.

Trying to be crafty...

So today I thought I would try something different. After working this morning, I decided I wanted to get the spray paint out again and see what I could make!! I rummaged through our storage room, and found this frame from Ikea that wasn't being used. I then asked myself, what can I frame?! The idea suddenly came to me! I will use my wedding gift bags that I cherish so much! They are so pretty, so I thought it would be a good way to display them! Here is the frame as I started out...

And now the gift bags...

Spray paint fun! I am also working on another project, but don't have all the supplies. Stay tuned for the other item!

I then wrapped the bags around the existing photo cards I had in the frame!

And the finished product...

Here is a picture of my new home office! Since I spend 40 hours/week in here, I had to have yellow!!

Well, another day of unpacking! Here is what I need to get accomplished today:

*Clean bathrooms

*Unpack boxes from "storage room"

*If time, list some items on ebay

*Rec. Center - run 3 miles

If I can get all these items accomplished, it will be a great day!

My Office - Blue Stripes Anyone?

Our first home improvement to the new home was carpet. After that, I needed to tackle the blue stripes. That blue was BRIGHT!! Here are some before and during pictures. I am not done with the decorating - still need to unpack some more boxes. I will continue to post on my progress.

I have always dreamed of a yellow room!! Here is a picture of me painting around 7am - Day 2 in home!

Goodbye blue stripes; hello yellow!

All my white furniture from Ikea, Ebay, and Target - my favorite places!!

I have since added a white dresser, mirror on the wall, and some pictures. Here is the picture that my DH made for me! He even made sure it was a white frame! In the heart, he wrote down our vows that we wrote for each other. What a sweetheart!!

I will post more pictures once I have the finished product!

Moving Day!

Well, Friday was moving day! I am proud to say that we made it in one piece. The cats enjoyed the 1 1/2 hour drive in their pet carriers!! It was so nice having the moving company come and pack all our items, load them on the truck, and then bring them to our new home! It was 5 degrees outside - COLD!!
